Road closed

That about sums up today adventure. It was raining but we wanted to get out anyway so with a lunch packed we took off for parts unknown. Actually it was looking for some more water falls, the first one we could’t locate the other 2 were quite the hike, we knew that when we left and knew we wouldn’t hike it unless it quit raining which it didn’t. We couldn’t have hiked there anyway, from the starting point was a sign that some bridges were out and to start from another trail head that we had no idea where it was.

So then it was off to see some snow, with all the road closed signs I was hopping the turnarounds would be at the snow covering the road. We made it to the Mount St Helens Hwy 99 Windy Ridge View Point but it was closed at the beginning of the road so we turned around and headed for home. Further research says it typically doesn’t open until late June early July.

On a whim I took this little one lane road that went to a trail head (Strawberry) but after a couple of bouncy miles there was snow across the road, it sure looked like another Bigfoot snow trap so I backed down a ways found a wider spot in the “road” and turned around. Sorry Big guy.
