I sure was glad I had my heavy coat

No Bigfoot sightings today, we spent the afternoon out on a whale watching expedition. Unfortunately we only saw one whale, we’re early in the season, but it wasn’t for the lack of trying on the captains part. Lets just say those 4 big, that’s right 4, Yamaha V8’s didn’t get much idle time on the 4 or so hours we were on the water. The boat was a catamaran type boat with 2 outboards on each side.

So besides the one Gray whale we found some seals, a Sea Otter, who was apparently a long ways from home, Sea lions, a Bald Eagle or two, who ignored us for a while then flew off, along with a couple of puffins.

There were a few more people on board that I would have liked but the company had a mask on all the time, and most were very good about the mask. Plus we had the J & J vaccinee in early April.

It wasn’t tooooo cold when we were stop and standing in the sun but in the shade or while moving it was a bit nippy, we spent most of our moving time in the cabin. There were a couple of hardy souls who with only a light jacket spent the entire ride on the bow of the boat…………. burr I got a cold chill just remembering that.

The boat had a top deck that we didn’t check out we were among the last to board and by then the top was full, they must have been pretty well protected from the wind because nobody came into the lower cabin the entire trip like I expected. but that was ok.

Also it was a mostly sunny day.
