Not 1 Not 2 But 3!!!
But first the new notifications are not working so there is a new story below this one.

Not 1 not 2 but 3 waterfalls in one outing.
With a small lunch packed we drove over to Lake Superior and Superior Falls. Superior Falls, our first stop, is on the Montreal River, it is I believe, the tallest falls around us. The Montreal River is also the State border dividing Wisconsin and Michigan. So 1/2 technically half of the falls is in MI and the other 1/2 is in WI. The falls its self is only about 300 yards from Lake Superior, at the parking lot short sleeves were comfortable and at the lake, a sweatshirt would have been nice to have.
Parking is kinda at the center of the falls. The upper part of the falls was fairly easy to get to. The lower part while was good path, was on the shall we say the steep side. The steep part was a road covered with very rough concrete, with every small rock or twig just waiting to roll out from under your foot. It’s very rough to allow vehicles traction to get up the hill in bad/wet weather. At the top of the falls is a small dam where water is channeled into a 6 ft pipe at the bottom of the falls the water powers a small electrical generation plant, this the need for the access road.
Next up, and only a few miles away was Saxon Falls, still on the Montreal River, again with a small dam at the top and a pipe feeding another small power station.
We could only get to the river in one spot the river and falls are in a deep ravine with no way down to get near the falls.
For the third and final falls of the day and again only a few miles away was Potato Falls on the Potato River.
Again because of the way the falls are in a pretty deep & steep sided gorge, getting close is not a safe thing to do, however a number of steps will get you to a couple of descent obersavation areas. How many steps you might ask? Well Mary, the official step counter, counted 356, 712 if you count going down? Yup I was done for the day after that.
