Seeking Bigfoot
5/8/0201 Miles Driven 235 – Elevation 2321
This could also be called 2 days exploring the Badlands National Park.
It was a cold gray dawn as we pulled out of the Mitchell SD Walmart Parking lot around 6:30 am. The low hanging clouds looked like they could bust loose with rain at any time. We did drive in some light rain a couple of times. Did I mention the wind was blowing, hard, you had to hang on to the doors when you opened them. The good thing about the wind is it was a tail wind and didn’t hurt the gas mileage any.
Leaving early like we did then going through a time change, we’re now in Mountain time, had us arriving at our campsite before noon. Plenty of time to go Bigfoot hunting. Only problem was the wind and rain. As I’m sure all of you know, I need to be careful out in the rain, being as sweet as I am, I could dissolve in to nothing:)
So anyway, we drove around most of the park, including a high clearance vehicle only road, looking for signs of the big guy, I mean they must be plentiful here because they have roads and a picnic area named after him, but we never seen hide nor hair of one.
Being cool and off and on rain several animals were out and about, so we got lots of pictures.
On the second day I looked and looked for Bigfoot again. I looked in every nook and cranny I could find. For some reason every time I would look over the edge of a deep crevice Mary would say, are you sure you can’t lean out a little further he might be just out of sight, I would say if I leaned out any further I would probably fall off the edge, she would just smile, shrug her shoulders, and say something I’ll never find Bigfoot unless I look harder………………………….
Big foot pictures.
Mary lost at her chutes and ladders challenge on the way down, climb up the ladder go to end of trail climb back down the ladder. I’ll admit going down was a bit of a challenge. We walked more the last couple of days than we have over the last couple of years.
The views were fantastic.
Lots of animals out and about.

Love the stories you tell! Plus, the pictures are awesome! Keep up the hunt for Big Foot cause WE know he’s out there, I don’t care what the non-belivers say. Stay safe and keep your eyes on the road.
