Sittin on the dock of the bay
11/9/2020
After staying 3 nights in the small 4 spot CG in Waynesboro TN, it was time to move on down the road, so it was back to the Natchez Trace for a few miles of peaceful no traffic drive.
Well, full disclosure, its actually a picnic table I’m sitting at and it’s a cove not a bay. We’re backed up to a cove on Bay Spring Lake. Which is on/part of the Tennessee–Tombigbee Waterway (Tenn-Tom) and that allows you to go by boat from Kentucky Lake and points North down to Mobile Alabama and the Gulf of Mexico. Most boaters doing the Great Loop, circumnavigate the eastern 1/2 of the US by boat, use the Tenn-Tom, avoiding the busy Mississippi where it enters into the Gulf of Mexico.
I heard a rather large splash a while ago, I’m thinking maybe the Creature from the Black Lagoon may have found a new place to live.
The drive was around 99 miles and had us driving through Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. We’re now at an elevation of 389. We’re just spending 1 night here, we had considered staying longer but this site is reserved for Tuesday night, we looked at just moving to another site and staying until Monday but all the sites over looking the water are reserved for the weekend, so we decided to just move on further south.

Yet another forecast FAIL!!!
We know there is some rain in the forecast and possible some rain this weekend from the remains of hurricane Eta This weekend so we decided to sit tight until Monday.
Last night before we went to bed we knew we couldn’t stay more than 1 night at this spot, someone had already reserved it for tonight. So, looking at other spots we would like, of course they were all reserved already. we made the decision to move on down the road away’s, it’s not going to rain until in the evening night, the talking head told me so it must be true. WRONG. Drove to our next spot in the misting rain. But of course it quit raining about the time we got here, and we left early to miss the rain.
Stuck in side this winter? Netflix has a decent BBC series called Ripper Street, it’s probably not for kids or the faint of heart.
Don’t forget to wear your mask!!!
The End
