Extending our Stay in Kalispell

It’s nothing serious! On our way here from the east side of the mountains we noticed a very significant power loss with the Motorhome, no lights on on the dash. Serious enough that Mary has been following me in the Jeep for the last 150 miles or so. It has no power. Checking around here in Kalispell, while we were in Ronan, looking for a place to get it worked on.

I don’t know what’s going on but ALL the shops are booked up solid. We finally found one that could look at it on 8/27/2020, that worked out perfect, that was the day out reservation ended. So off to the shop we go for their 8:00 opening. About 1:00 they called with the news that the catalytic converter is clogged. UGH, it’s not that expensive to have replaced but, it needs to be ordered and it’s 4 work days delivery, not counting the weekend. While they have it they are also going to do some routine maintenance, like a tune up and new front brake pads, stuff I was going to have done once we got back to Indiana. So anyway, Mary called the park we just came from, fortunately they had a spot open for the 7 days we need to extend our stay. If things go according to “hope”, 2 weeks total here and then we’re on the road again.

I’m not sure how much I’ll be posting between now and when we’ll pull out. This delay will seriously eat into our time we can spent visiting other places because we need to be back in Indiana at the end of the month.

One thing’s for sure about this area, they sure do like their coffee. While I have only seen a couple of signs for Starbucks, most look to be located within stores, there are a large number of small drive through coffee shops. They are small about the size of a large bathroom, they appear to be open all day long and more tries than not there is at least one car pulled up to the window getting coffee. this morning when we were out this one had a drive up window on each side with at least 4 cars lined up at both windows. Each small town has at least 1 to 2 on each end of town, with Kalispell having the everywhere.
