Theodore Roosevelt National Park – South

This morning we started with a hike of about a mile down towards the bottom of the Painted Canyon. It wasn’t to bad of a hike but I sure am glad we did that first thing……. it got HOT later in the day. 1 bottle of water split between us shows that we weren’t struggling to bad, we had 2 with us. We were both pleased with how well we did coming back up, we have not been very active since last fall and both of us are kind out of shape but we made it back up with little in the way of huffing and puffing. I may not be able to move tomorrow but that’s another story.

After that we drove the loop road, which is closed near one end do some erosion problems so it was more like an in and out drive. The park has several bison that are broken up into several smaller herds, one herd had no issue with standing in the road and blocking traffic.

With high temperatures and mighty wind blowing sometimes I felt like I was standing in a blast furnace.

RANT:  6:30 8/12/2020 – just left the Dickinson ND Walmart. So disappointed, after bragging about the Davenport Walmart, this one about 1/2 the customers didn’t have on a mask.  This was also AFTER I just did the post about wearing a mask.
