89 miles and a time zone change
Nothing like a forgotten time zone change to really mess up your arrival time. 89 miles is not that long of a drive, so we hung out at Vagabond Campground until 11. on this part of highway 2 there are not very many places to stop and we didn’t want to arrive at the next place too early. That gave us LOTS of time to kill at the last rest area, but it’s probably good we didn’t kill to much more time as we got the last spot that we could stay 4 nights, we wanted to stay 7 but they are full for this coming weekend.
6/22/2020 Allergies really got me down today, a week or so I was climbing the Dunes at Sleeping Bear Dunes, today it was all I could do to walk out to the end of the pier and back, concrete and level. Had to head back home. Benadryl didn’t help much. It did rain the rest of the afternoon so we couldn’t do much anyway.
We stayed 4 nights, I never really felt up to par so we didn’t do much of anything beyond the 1st excursion. It helped that there was nothing really in the area.
The park we stayed in was pretty flat and we had a LOT of rain, puddles and standing water everywhere, one evening they came around and ask us to close the door because they were going to spray for misquotes. 2 different guys came around with gas powered sprayers, while someone else treated the standing water areas.
The next day I was able to set out and not be bothered by skeeters. The day after that sitting outside and when the sun was shining just right, you could look out and just see the misquotes flying around. Oh well , at least I had one day skeeter free.
Everyone please be safe – As I mentioned in the last post, I hope I’m wrong, but I fear there is a true title wave of COVID cases on the horizon. Sadly, what we’ve seen so far is just the very beginning, a small ripple of what’s to come. COVID will be hanging around until there is safe and effective vaccine. that might take a couple of years so you can’t let your guard down. Think, do I really need that whatever it is before entering a building?
