Chasing bigfoot or is that chased by bigfoot
I bet I fooled you by using something other than a picture of my ugly mug this time.

I was listening to my most favorite radio station on my Dick Tracy watch, that’s GETSMART on AM 99.007 just in case you were curious. Todays show was hosted by Alfred and he was interviewing the Man from U.N.C.L.E. They were discussing all the ways BF (that stands for bigfoot for youn’s, not in the know) can disguise himself so you over look him in his natural environment. The show was getting really really interesting when all of a sudden they brake in to the live broadcast with an important news bulletin. A bigfoot had been spotted at Reelfoot Lake.
Well guess what, we’re only a few miles from Reelfoot so we jumped in the trusty Jeep and head off. I floor it, throwing gravel, taking corners on 2 wheels, we’re off. Why we were going so fast, that we just jumped from one small hill to the next, I’m pretty sure I broke the sound barrier a couple of times, dang but I was in a hurry to find me a for real bigfoot.
So, we’re zipping down this little paved road then all of a sudden we sees this hand painted sign that said bigfoot this way with an arrow pointing down this little mud path, I cut hard, the jeep is back up on 2 wheels as we barley made the corner. I floor it and we’re fishtailing though the mud and the muck.
The trees started closing in, blocking out what sunlight there was, we’re back in there 50-60 miles at least on this lil skinny cowpath. No place to trun around. I lean over and ask Mary if she thought there was something fishy with that hand painted sign? Could this be a BF trap set for me? Realization sets in! I break out in a cold sweat as slam on the brakes, with the tires locked up, it’s all I can do to keep the slide straight as the big trees go whizzing by. Well I finally come to a mostly controlled stop. Looking around I can just feel BF’s lil beady eyes on me. With no place to turn around I throw the Jeep in reverse and got the heck out of there.
Having just escaped one trap set by the cunning bigfoot, we decided to walk on this other promising looking path. The further we walked the trees start closing in, the sky starts turning dark and my spidy senses start tingling, them little hairs on the back of my neck start standing up, I just know BF is watching me, sending mental signals, just a few more steps. My eyes are darting all around, I’m turning my head around like an owl, the path is still getting narrower and darker. Finally we decide we’re getting to far from the Jeep, we turn around before falling into what I’m sure was another BF trap.
I never did see the bigfoot but thankfully we did manage to avoid his cunning traps.
Ok so I “MAY” have embellished the story above just the teeny tiny lil bit. With rain sprinkles off and on from an overcast sky, it did turn out to be a good self isolation day while driving around and exploring Reelfoot Lake. The Tennessee State Parks system in the area had several pull offs, trails and piers, including one spot with some Bald Eagles, Red Tail Hawks and some Owls in cages. The Visitors Center was closed due to the virus but we were able to walk around to see the birds.
We didn’t talk to anyone or get near anyone and we used hand sanitizer everytime we got back in the jeep.

We have moved again, I was planning to do 1 last post but it’s nothing like I was expecting. We will be in our home area soon, so this is the for real last post until we start traveling again. Thanks to the trump hoax virus I have no idea when that may be.

I am SO GLAD you didn’t fall for all the BF traps that were set up…. ( I know you would NEVER embelish these tales too much, just enough to keep interest going) but, on the plus side, you did get so see some wild birds. Glad you all can still enjoy your travels with all this Covid-19 crap going on … Stay safe and avoid people ( could be BF in disguise for all you know) and continue to enjoy the ride. Take care and look foward to reading more adventures from you!
