Vidalia LA
3/13/2020 – 3/15/2020 Elevation 85 miles driven 207
Around 8:15, we’re making our way to the next spot, first we had the most difficult spot in the entire CG to get out of. To start with the site was slightly curved, not a bad thing but it was kinda narrow, anyway all the other sites are level with grass all around, ours was next to a wash, on the right side, I had to be careful and not cut it tooooo short and get in the wash. The wash extended across the road so I couldn’t get of the road on that side either, with careful maneuvering we made it out.
The park is in a more or less a residential area, we’re driving along following the directions of that girl locked up in the GPS. She said to continue on this skinny road, for a few more miles when I spot a sign pointing towards the expressway we were headed to. As I quickly make another executive (no time to get the thinking cap on but luckily the fire alarm didn’t go off) decision to turn and follow the signs, I told Mary that I sure hope bigfoot didn’t put that sign there to lead me into a trap as I was turning. Them is cunning creatures you know just like my wife, but don’t tell he I said that.
Thankfully it wasn’t a trap and we made it to the expressway, and that, was just the first of many arguments I had with that girl in the GPS on this Friday the 13th. I was ready to take her and give her a toss in the river, and that was all before 10:00 AM
Enough dragging up past memories, now we’re at a park on the Mighty Mississippi River where we can watch the barges and other boats going up and down the river, from the front windshield. That’s the good, the bad is the river has really been up and is now going down, you know how river mud can have a smell sometimes? Well every now and then I get a nose offending whiff of that soggy mud.
After we arrived, we needed to go to a Walmart, my least favorite store in all the world, for something that might be hard to find in other stores. So a quick online search tells me where the nearnest Wally World is ( 3 miles away) we jump in the Jeep and it directs us to one about 8-9 miles a way, and difficult to get into the parking lot. At least by following the GPS it’s telling me to go down the road make a U turn and come back when there is a stop light at the entrance. I’m pretty sure bigfoot has somehow managed to some how reprogram both GPS’s. Like I said them is very smart and cunning creatures. Devious toooo, just like my wife but don’t tell her I said that, ok?
That was yesterday, Friday the 13th, today is a new day. Update, braking a glass this morning before daylight is not getting the day off to the best start.
I can say that it hit 79-80 here on that terrible Friday the 13th, so warm that not only did we need to turn on the A/C we left it on all night.
You know it’s going to be hot when Mary comes out dressed in short pants and a sleeveless tee shirt. My apologies to you folks stuck in the frozen north, I really didn’t mean to type anything about how hot it is here. I’m sure you’ll get your revenge as we have started making our way back to the frozen north.

Glad you managed to elude Big Foot yet again…. Your right, they are very cunning creatutes. I just have one question for ya Rex….. In the pics, I see a handicap sign, is this where the handicap boats park or is this a parking lot under water? Lol
Safe travels!
P.S. Glad ya didn’t throw the GPS girl in the river, she may not know how to swim!
Let me telly ya, the girl in the GPS almost went for a swim, and the handicap sign is an underwater car parking spot.
