Cummins Falls – Cookeville TN
Along with the frost covered Jeep we rolled out of Parkers Crossing CG about 7:30 this morning. We wouldn’t have left that early but the guy beside us was getting ready to leave, so what the heck, we fired up too and pulled out.
Today’s journey was 206 miles. Tonight, we’re in Cookeville TN. We’re going to visit my Aunt June and some of her family tomorrow.
Today, after we got here, we’re at Old Mill Campground, just across the road from Cummins Falls State Park, we took a hike down to the falls. I think we walked about 3 1/2 miles, most of it very easy. While it was a nice path the walk up the side of the hill did manage to get the ole heart and breathing up:)
It’s also billed as one of the best swimming holes in North America.
From along the river we could not walk up far enough to see the falls without wading through some knee deep water. Since the falls are located in the FROZEN NORTH we decided not to go any further. From the pictures I have seen, it looks like it would be a nice place to go in the summer.
It’s also a good thing the CG has WiFi because ATT is pretty much non existent here. It might be time to look into to a Cellphone booster, even if it’s just a small one……… It’s only money right??

We had a GREAT visit, and supper, with my Aunt June and some of her family. It was good to visit, I wish we could have stayed longer but they had some rain in the forecast and the extend forecast. We considered sitting tight and visiting some more except we had right at zero cell service and our hot spot would not work, and only a couple of PBS TV stations to watch. The prospect of possibly multiple days of rain, stuck inside the RV, didn’t sound so appealing. We do plan to return when we can stay longer……….. Perhaps sometime when it’s NOT SNOWING!!

Thanks for the swimming hole info; could be useful to me and the boys this summer. I’m always up for that type of place.
We got a ton of snow here last night; 6″-8″ from the looks at my house’s back deck.
Hatin’!
Better stay where you are. We had about 10 inches of snow last night and this morning. It is beautiful but messy.
To late, we’re already here. I’ve had the honor and privilege to shovel some of the stuff…….
