No toboggan needed

WOW, what a difference a few days make and I’m sure that a couple hundred miles south helps also. We went walking around the town of Natchez MS today. Not only did I not need a toboggan, I started to do the other thing that I’m allergic to besides work, and that’s sweat. It was getting most warm – well not really – It wasn’t all that warm at 71* but the humidity was cranking and everything was damp from the morning rain.
We walked around 3 miles checking out the downtown area, many old buildings and a few mansions. Seems like it was common for plantation owners to live in town instead at their isolated plantations.
We rolled into town on 3/24 and were planning to stay at the visitors center, but I didn’t think we would be able to get level enough to be comfortable. So we went down the road to Natchez Trace State park for the night, then after a leisurely breakfast we went back to the visitors center and parked the Motorhome and walked around town where I started to do the sweating thing.YUK!!!!
Leaving town we jumped on the Natchez trace Parkway for a leisurely drive of about 50 miles to a free National Park Campground. Nothing here to brag about except the price, it’s in the woods with a nice picnic table and a nice fire ring that someone was nice enough to leave some wood for a fire.
Natchez is a historic little town that I believe may be the oldest town in the Mississippi River area.
