World Traveling Dan From Indiana
3/18-23/2019 Elevation 622 Miles driven. 205
The reason we’ve been dragging our feet was to pick up our son Dan in Dallas TX, he will be traveling with us until we reach So. Indian. He’s taking a short break before continuing his around the world adventures.
Well, between spring break filling up the State Parks and the Nationals Parks, around us, closed until May 1, we ended up getting here to this small park in Cartwright OK 5 nights early. We’re just north of the TX-OK border.
We thought being a small park in an extra small town would be quit and relaxing. With the weather finally warming up we looked forward to spending some time outside relaxing. Well, that didn’t work out as plan, who knew there was a very busy sand pit just down this gravel road. When I say busy I mean semi after semi going one direction or the other. From around 5 am to 6 pm their probably was not 15 minutes when a semi truck didn’t roll by. The road is so narrow that they need to slow down or stop when meeting one another. Pretty dusty toooooooo
We’re about 2 miles from the Denison Dam, on Texoma Lake, the fourth largest in Texas, so we would go down to watch the pelicans-on the Red River. They would fly up near the dam and float down stream looking for fish.
