The Saddest place I’ve ever visited
April 6th – Ok so we’ve primarily been traveling west for a few days and not north.
So, last night we stayed at the Andersonville GA RV park, and this morning had to stop by the Little Drummer Boy Museum to pay for last night. The museum while small was well organized and had a lot of original artifacts for being such a small museum.
Note these bullets from Gettysburg fused together, how close would they have needed to be in order to create enough heat to fuse them together? I would think almost muzzle to muzzle.
From there we went to the National Prisoner of War Museum, still in Andersonville Georgia. Its located on the site where Union POW’s were held during the Civil War, and almost 13,ooo soldiers died in 14 months.
No clean drinking water, less than starvation rations, no medicine, rampant disease, no hope! Such a SAD place. One small creek or spring for drinking water, and that creek was to carry away waste, but to much waste, to little water and the stockade blocked up the creek creating a swamp, it was said that the people in the town of Americus 10 miles away complained of the stench.
This picture is actually from the museum in town.
The Museum is about Pow’s from all wars, not just the Civil War, it’s well worth the trip and should be a required visit for our current set of elected dumbasses in the senate and congress!
The End
