Sea Rim State Park
March 11 & 12th
We spent 2 nights in Sea Rim State Park TX. I was somewhat disappointed with the beach, not the parks fault, to start the sand is mostly silt, so it’s dark and solid, as in you can drive on it, we didn’t but it was hard and solid. The other thing besides the water not looking clear the beach had a lot of stuff on it, plant material and small chunks of wood, much of it dark like charcoal. I’m pretty sure most of it was washed up since the recent storms.
Anyway, not much to write about, they have a really nice new, pretty long, boardwalk that the birds use as their outhouse, the brand new benches and a lot of the walkway itself, are almost white with bird dodo.
While we didn’t see any alligators from the boardwalk or in any of the water at that end of the park, the boardwalk makes a loop and we were told that some people had to call the headquarters to be rescued. It seems that while they were walking a gator decided to sun himself on the boardwalk.
We only saw 1 gator while we were here, he was probably 7-8 foot long.
I guess I should mention the WIND, the van was constantly rocking from the wind, many reviews mention the skeeters, some calling it the misquote coast, we didn’t see any, the wind was just to strong.
