Bear & Moose hunting
September 14, 2022
We spent a few days driving around exploring the area and doing just very short walks as our feet return to normal. Mary still has a black & blue toe and the blister I had, which was well over an inch long running along the inside side of my heel, is still tender .
While we’re keeping our eyes open we have yet to see a moose or a bear, but there are a lot of turkeys around here and most are not the least bit bothered by traffic, these guys pictured below were in no hurry to get out of the way, only one of them even flapped its wings, and a couple more almost ran to the very edge of the road, the majority just casually walked to the edge of the road like they owned the place. If I hadn’t all but stopped we would have had Wild Turkey on the grill.
The temperatures are dropping down in mid 40’s at night and mid 60’s durning the day but the wind has really picked up making it almost uncomfortable to spend a lot of time outside, if you can find a spot out of the wind and in sunshine it’s pretty comfortable.
Cell service in most of the towns is pretty good, drive a few miles out of town and your phone becomes a paper weight.
