Roswell NM
7:45AM and we’re pulling out headed for the alien crash site city, Roswell. We pulled out extra early because they have wind advisory for this afternoon and we wanted to get the 120 miles out of the way before it arrived. We gradually climbed to 7500 feet before a long gradual down hill. The engine brake and transmission working like they should and I only applied the brakes a couple of times except at stop lights.
We’re kinda disappointed with the alien themes here. We did tour the International UFO Museum and Research Center. It feels like the city ( 50,000 people) is moving away from the alien themes. Except for a few street lamps with alien eyes we didn’t see anything the city did to showed the aliens crashed here. Only 1 or 2 restaurant with alien themes. We have seen cities and towns with horses, apples, pigs and more on street corners, Roswell is missing the boat by not having any aliens around.
Around the museum were a small handful of alien themed stores that we didn’t go in, depending on the weather and what else we find to do we may go back and stick our heads in. One good thing about living in a MH no room for anything:)
Well, the wind arrived GLAD I’m not trying to drive in this.
Another note to self. If you want to go to Carlsbad Caverns, make your reservations well, weeks, in advance. We’re changing our plans and route because (A) spots are very limited in Carlsbad and (B) They had no tours open with one day reservations.
