Kitch-iti-kipi
8/11/201
We drove down to kitch-iti-kipi or Big Spring. We have been there a couple of other times years ago, I think it’s pretty, neat a river just forms right there.
The spring is about 45 ft deep and the water is co clear, you can practically see individual grains of sand moving around where the water enters the spring.
This time there were several fish in the spring, Im sure would like to know how big they really are, it’s hard to gauge how big they are with the water so deep and clear.
The spring is so big they have rigged up a boat on a pulley system that takes you across and back, you move the boat by turning a large wheel.
We took a different route home and along the way we ran across this old lighthouse, it sets way out at the end of a peninsula.
The only thing left is the lighthouse tower itself, at one time it had the living quarters attached.
The closer we got to the lighthouse, the narrower the road became until it turned into a one lane pothole filled dirt track, with pullouts every so often so cars could pass one another.
