Northern Minnesota
South Dakota – North Dakota – Minnesota
NOTE: There might be an older one just below this one:( Might (probably) even a couple below the last one to 2 that worked correctly.
Wednesday, July 13, 2022, sadly it’s time to hang a right and head east again & back towards Indiana.
We decided that with the exception of not going to the license branch we wouldn’t change our plans, so in Sioux Falls we hung a right and headed due north, spent the night and still heading north we crossed into North Dakota, then after about another 200 miles we hung another right going east now and almost immediately crossed the Red River and ended up in Texas, no that’s not right, there must be two Red Rivers because we entered Minnesota.
Eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota have some of the naturally flattest and biggest fields I think we have ever seen. On the way north from Indiana some of the corn looked like it was getting ready to tassel, up here what little corn there was only about knee high, we passed a few fields of bright yellow canola ( canola oil) most of the fields up here are planted in Sugar Beets which is where 55-60% of USA sugar comes from.
They sure like their statues big up here.
So far we haven’t seen and B W or B – Bears Wolves or Bigfoot, we do understand there are 40 moose in the area so we’re keeping an eye out for some of them but so far no luck.
Voyager National Park was interesting and long having 3 welcome centers with one offering boat rides but Lake of the Woods was up and the park service wasn’t doing any tours, we probably could have found a private company but didn’t try. One thing is for sure it’s not worth visiting without a boat or taking a boat tour.
