Indiana Dunes National Park
4/9/2022
Drove 315 miles yesterday day, had a little light rain, some wind and a few seconds of ice pellets.
Back in March we made it back to Indiana just a head of some cold weather and in time for Mary’s mom knee replacement surgery.
Now that she was getting around ok it was time for us to head out for a week or so, we hung out in the frozen north long enough that it’s now time for our spring Dr’s appointments so that’s the reason we’re only getting to be gone for a long week. It looks like we will be staying close to So. Indiana for most of may as Mary if going go have some surgery to fix the tube in her kidney, that way she won’t need to have a stent and the stent changed a few times a year. the surgery is scheduled in mid May and she will have some recovery time after that.
So, anyway, what direction do you think we headed????? Well, come on guess – north of course! As if I haven’t had my fill of cold weather.
2 reasons for heading north, #1 we wanted to see our daughter and son-in-law and the other reason will be mentioned in a later post.
Woke up this morning to a light skiff of snow on the ground – UGH. If it’s going to snow we should get at least a couple of feet!
From our campsite we can see 2 other vans, the 3 of us might be the only fools out and about along with the camp host.

Yesterday we went with the kids to eat at a restaurant called Industrial Revolution, it was good and the check had a QR code on it and it let me pay from the table with my phone. Pretty slick.
We also stopped at a coffee shop where Mary had a drink called Blood of your Enemy. Glad it was their blood and not mine!
Today was semi warm so we were to take several exploring walks, including an old farm an old homestead / trading post from around 1822. We ended up walking almost 5 miles. I hope I will be able to move tomorrow.
There have been several vans and a few campers moving in out durning our stay here.
The End
