This will probably be the last post
This will probably be the last post until November, maybe even, until after Thanksgiving.

We’re now in Tennessee in a campground called Defeated Creek. We almost felt defeated in trying to find a spot in a COE park. This far “north” many of them are already closed, and the others were full, so full that we booked the last available spot in this CG of 155 sites for the weekend. Plenty of spots for weekdays in the ones that are open but the weekends are all full. This should be the last weekend we need to find a spot for we should be back in Indiana by this coming weekend.
We had to really drag our feet getting here, something I will confess we are not very good at, especially with no places to stop and a time change in the mix, so we ended staying about an hour at the only rest stop along the way.
Tennessee sure has some steep road grades, I think the steepest we went up was 8% but on a downhill, the sign said 9%, that’s a pretty steep climb, not to bad going down but the semi’s sure take slow going down, that’s a good thing. Going up sure is a pull though.
Saturday morning, October 9, 2021, durning our morning walk there were a few open spots but not very many, lots of reasons people book and pay for sites and don’t show up. We could have stayed longer but would have to move spots.
Obviously we have not reached civilization yet, still no Big Red or Mike Sells Hot Chips
To my family who live not to far from here, this stop was on short notice, we had intended to travel a little further north but couldn’t find place to stay and with COVID still about I decided not to reach out, maybe the next time we’re in the area.
A few pictures from our stay at Defeated Creek Campground and Cordell Hull Lake and the Cumberland River.

Today’s drive was not an easy one, most of the drive was 2 lane roads, with so many twist, turns up and down hills and big ditches on the sides of the roads, it was a might worry some meeting those large trucks on these skinny roads, so it was a big sigh of relief when we got all hooked up on our campsite.
I’m just glad I kept it out of the ditch and didn’t clip mirror with some of the big trucks.
We’re here at Kendall Campground just below the dam of Lake Cumberland, I just hope the dam doesn’t bust.
I’m glad they don’t work at night, on the other side of the dam they are widening the road or something, anyway there is this hammer thing pounding away all day long.
If I ever take a leaf blower camping in the fall under trees, please shoot me and put me out of  everyones misery. Your in a campground under trees, it’s fall, leaves are falling, get over it!
Gasp, one leaf fell on their spot last night, I wonder how long before they break out the leaf blower again?
I’m not sure when we’ll be back on the road, that will depend on many things.
The End
