Lake Kissimmee State Park Florida
Sunday, September 26 2021 – UGH sure is hot! But I’m not complaining, nope, well maybe just a little complaining, you know I just can’t help it.
We moved about 114 miles today, on a Sunday, the first Sunday move in a long time. The site at Myakka River SP we were in was booked for Sunday night, when we made the reservations the only way we could have stayed longer was to change spots, with the area flooded, I’m not complaining about moving.
We’re now at Lake Kissimmee State Park, there are some longer trails here that we may or may not hike on, otherwise there is not a lot to do here. While the park is on a lake and there is a marina here, the only water you can see is the super small marina basin, you can ‘t see the lake itself. We could hear airboats on the water when we first arrived.
Monday, September 27, 2021, 7:00am, a while ago it was ALMOST tolerable outside……. I think I may faint.
Tuesday, September 28, 2021, you’ll never guess what we did!!! Well, come on make a guess.
We turned off the A/C last night around 9:00pm and as of 2:oo pm today we have not turned it back on. I’m still trying to wrap my head around that. It’s almost comfortable out. We went for a walk of about a mile this morning and I didn’t even start sweating. Usually by the time I make the single step down and out of the motorhome, I’m already starting to sweat and feel like I need a shower.
It really helps that we are tucked away between some trees so we are shaded most of the day.
We both slept pretty good with the exhaust fans blowing out, bringing fresh air in through the windows. No hearing the A/C kick off and on, no getting warm before it decides to come on and getting cool before it shuts off. Eventually we had to turn on the A/C around 4:00, it’s going to cool off again tonight so we will open the windows again tonight.
The cicadas, are almost the same pitch as the ringing in my ears, so I don’t notice them to bad, I think they are about do drive Mary crazy(er). She’s glad they shut up after dark.
Wednesday, September 29, 2021 we did it again last night, that’s right, we were able to turn off the A/C. Lesson learned from the night before, we had actually turned off the A/C before dark but as night fell some kind of super small bug was able to get through the window screens so we closed the windows and ran the A/C until bedtime.
The End
