Rex’s refried brain
Is it ever HOT and MUGGY!!
Since I have fried my brain daily for the past few weeks, it’s now REFRIED.
September 10, 2021 Elevation 12 – temperature – brain frying HOT!
We moved about 94 miles today, we didn’t leave Myakka River State Park until around 12:30 and even with filling up with gas we pulled in here at Koreshan State Historic Site State Park at 2:45.
It was SO HOT out in the direct sun that my brain started to fry every time I stepped in the brain frying sunshine while hooking up the electric and water. Inside was registering 91 when we turned on the AC. The AC can keep us comfortable inside but it takes a while to bring the temperature down to a comfortable level.
September 11, 2021 Hotter than YESTERDAY!!! UGH
This is a small State Park, it’s the site of a turn of the century religious community and the area is much more Suruban than I suspected when we made the reservations, there’s not a lot to do here. There is one trail along the small river of Estero and takes about 30 minutes to walk, each way, while there were a couple of signs about gators, we didn’t see any.
The sites here are long and very narrow with some foliage between sites, with the trees between sites we should have some shade however we’re parked east to west so we’re in the sun most of the day.
In the very hot part of the day we drove over to the island of Sanibel which cost us $6 toll to cross the causeway then $5 an hour to park, we used the excuse of no parking spots to not pay the $5 and came back home, it was WAY to crowded for me.
More than once when getting out of the nice cool air conditioned jeep our glasses would get so foggy we had to take them off to see.
September 12, 2021 Blazing hot again today.
This morning, yes it was hot even then, we went to the farmers market here in the park, now that was an EXPENSIVE little outing.
95 brain frying degrees today and the AC has reached it’s cooling limit, it’s not hot inside but the AC is not kicking off.
The End
