Our Stay at Warren Bridge CG
June 24 – July 5 Elevation 7376
We stayed 11 days without electric or water hookups, $5 a night is just hard to pass up. Really we stayed that long because of the 4th of July weekend, spots are sometimes hard to come by on holiday weekends, and we knew the weather was going to be fantastic. The temperature was perfect for the most part with practically zero humidity. We didn’t need the A/C even with being in full sun, I’ll confess I did bump on the heat a couple of mornings for a few minutes, for Mary of course, just to take the nighttime chill off. Most days by 11:00 we had the exhaust fans going and windows open.
Durning our stay Mary got a couple of projects done with the sewing machine.
We added water using a water jug and the built in pump in the Motor home, we were about 15 ft short of having enough water hose to reach.
After a few days we moved to another spot, with in the campground, that was a doubled edged sword, we had more privacy looking out, but that put the almost constant breeze on the back of the coach, before we moved it was on the side and windows.
We took a few short drives and came across some Moose, and various other points of interest.
One thing I learned on one of our short drives, was durning the Rendezvous days there was actually an American Fort, Fort Bonneville, built in 1832, just a few miles from there Rendezvous that were held on the Green River.
Major Bonneville came west with 110 men and 20 wagons—- apparently he didn’t choose the location wisely nor didn’t account of the severity and length of the winters because the fort was abandoned after just a few years.
